U2 Under a Blood Red Sky Again
As I write this post, I am watching, what is in my humble opinion, U2's best concert video, U2 Live at Red Rocks "Under a Blood Red Sky" recorded June 5, 1983. I have pretty much every VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray concert the band has ever produced but this first effort surpasses all the rest. This DVD version of the concert covers the band's early material including songs from Boy, October and War only. With so many great songs and albums that followed this release it made me wonder how many fans would jump at the chance to see the band perform the same material using the same gear at the same venue and for the hell of it in the same conditions. That's right, U2 Live at Red Rocks "Under a Blood Red Sky" say June 5, 2023 (40 years later).
I saw the band perform the Joshua Tree album during the anniversary tour along with a few of their other hits thrown in for good measure at Gillette Stadium a couple years back. I would be the first to buy a ticket if the band did a one-off of this concert for interested fans. I always pictured myself in the original shows audience. I identified with the concert goers interviewed prior to the show. Hell I think those who can present their original stubs for the show should get in free or have first option to purchase. I'd be happy to fill one of the many empty seats in the amphitheatre of those who chose NOT to attend the show due to the miserable weather at the time.
Red Rocks in Colorado is still on my bucket list as a concert venue I'd attend.
Bono, The Edge, Adam & Larry please make it happen!!
U2 Fans make the request!!!
